I spend a large portion of my free time researching toys that will keep my son entertained and stimulated. Ten years ago, I’d have to go to specialized stores for ASD friendly toys. However, Amazon now offers a wide variety of games that can both educational and entertaining for the ASD community. Sensory Sock
This Sensory Sock is one of our ultimate favorite Amazon climbs. This particular one was recommended to us by an Occupational Therapist. In my opinion, the Sensory Sock is the unsung hero of ASD friendly toys. Your child can climb inside it, jump, walk, stretch and crawl to improve mobility and proprioceptive awareness. It’s also a great way for your child to enjoy a feeling of comfort during quiet time.

Ball Pit
This inflatable pool is incredibly easy to set up. At around $190, it’s an affordable way to bring the Chuck E Cheese vibes in the safety of your home. To convert this pool into a fun ball pit, purchase some chemical-free balls that are soft in texture. If you have enough space to accommodate some extras, consider adding a fun slide.
This specific pool is made with BPA-free materials and doesn’t emit a weird chemical smell. In the summer, you can move the pool outdoors. We love the thickened bottom that makes it sturdy and can effectively avoid the drop of water temperature.

Fidget Set
Amazon offers a wide variety of fun and intriguing fidget toys. I priced it out and it’s much cheaper to buy a pack of fidget toys than to purchase them individually from a toy store. Fidget sets offer a variety of small toys that are visually appealing and positively promote tactile curiosity. Our son loves the fidget spinners, squeeze beans, and infinity cubes. The only downside to purchasing a set is that you don’t always get to choose what items you receive. As a result, you might end up with fidget toys you already own.
Tree Puzzle
During a frantic search for a “Lollipopter”, I came across this ingenious Rotating Tree Puzzle. It’s made of wood and priced at only $20, I decided to give it a try. This item has kept our son so entertained!
Doodle Pad
If your child shares a passion for drawing, you need a Doodle Pad! Our little one adores drawing and spends hours on his numerous doodle pads. We go through tens of doodle pads yearly and it’s safe to say that we are Doodle Pad experts. This Doodle Board is one of our favorite picks and received great reviews for how light and durable it is. If your wallet approves, go a the bigger screen 15 inch version.
Tornado Lamp
Most people are familiar with lava lamps and their soothing effects. The tornado lamp is frankly the opposite of a lava lamp. When its motor rotates, it spins the water at high speed creating a fun twister. It’s fun to watch and offers great visual stimulation.
Motion Bubbler
Motion Bubblers are loved by our little one. We also use these bubblers as timers for potty training in the bathroom. Aside from being a fun toy, bubblers provide a calming effect that’s soothing for everyone!
Stepping Stone Gym
This Stepping Stone Gym is MY ULTIMATE FAVORITE AMAZON FIND! This particular one was recommended by our child’s physiotherapist. It’s easy to set up and provides hours of fun to our little one. This is incredibly handy, especially when it is cold outside but your child needs to blow off some steam with exercise. Other benefits of this gym include balance and coordination improvements. It’s also made of mostly non-toxic materials and is very durable.
Pegboard Games
Amazon offers a variety of fun pegboard games and puzzles. These pegboard games will keep your child happy for hours and is a great way to improve hand-eye coordination.
Magnetic Tiles
This particular magnetic tiles set, made my Connetix, is what we consider the best that we’ve had for our son. It’s sturdy and the magnets are strong enough to hold taller structures. Pair it with a light table and you’ve got yourself a great afternoon of pure fun!
